The clinic team at Crux Laboratory are Calgary-based Certified Pedorthists specializing in both clinical care and custom orthotic manufacturing.
Whether you see a member of our team onsite, or visit one of our many trusted clinic partners across Canada, the Crux Lab Clinic Team is always here to support your form the ground up!
Jared Langille, C. Ped (C), is a Calgary-based Certified Pedorthist working with Crux Laboratory.
Jared graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a degree in Kinesiology and previously worked as a Kinesiologist and brace fitter before discovering a passion for pedorthics. This path allowed him to combine clinical assessment, hands-on manufacturing, and complex problem solving in his practice.
Jared went on to complete his diploma in Pedorthics at Western University, graduating in 2024 and earning his Canadian Certified Pedorthist designation, C. Ped (C).
Jared is committed to ongoing education and evidence-based practice to support strong patient outcomes. He focuses on providing well-rounded treatment plans that address the root cause concerns rather than only managing symptoms. Based in Calgary AB, Jared provides a full range of Pedorthic services, including biomechanical and gait assessment, custom foot orthotics, orthotic refurbishment and modification, custom and non-custom bracing, footwear modifications, and clinical guidance.
Outside of the clinic, Jared enjoys mountain and gravel biking, hiking, backpacking, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with friends and family.

Rachel Smit, C. Ped (C), is a Calgary-based Certified Pedorthist working with Crux Laboratory.
She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before completing the Diploma in Pedorthics at Western University. Her early experience in running-gear retail helped shape her understanding that proper footwear alone is not always enough to address foot and lower-limb pain, leading her to pursue a career in pedorthics.
As a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, Rachel specializes in gait analysis and developing personalized treatment plans to help patients return to the activities they enjoy. Her approach may include custom or over-the-counter orthotics, footwear modifications, targeted exercises, and retail products such as toe spacers or sleeves, all tailored to the individual’s lifestyle and goals.
Rachel’s clinical focus is on identifying the source of pain or dysfunction and offloading high-stress areas of the foot and lower limb to improve comfort, mobility, and long-term function. Whether guiding someone toward appropriate footwear or collaborating on the design of a custom orthotic, she combines technical expertise with a patient-centered approach.
Outside the clinic, Rachel enjoys coaching with the Special Olympics curling program, swimming, spin cycling, and exploring Calgary’s pathway system by bike.
