Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us info@cruxlaboratory.ca if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We partner with Podiatrists, Pedorthists, Orthotists, Chiropractors, and Physiotherapists across Canada. Not eligible to prescribe? Explore our retail product line instead.

You’ll need two things:

  1. A biomechanical gait analysis setup.

  2. A cast, foam impression, or 3D foot scan.

Our system works optimally with 3D scanning practices, but Crux accepts all formats—plaster casts, slipper casts, foam, and digital scans. No special scanning gear required—but if you'd like help choosing the right scanner or casting system, we're here to assist.

 To start production, simply submit:

  • A cast, foam impression, or 3D scan of the foot

  • A completed work-order form

We process digital orders by email or through our portal. Physical impressions can be mailed or dropped off at our Calgary lab. Incomplete orders will be held until we have all the required info.

Yes—Crux devices are crafted under the supervision of a certified Pedorthist (C. Ped C) using insurance-approved materials and methods. We can provide the necessary insurance letters, lab invoices, and support documentation. Note: Referral and insurance requirements (e.g., physician referral, paid invoice) are the responsibility of your clinic or patient.

We guarantee a 2‑week delivery from the order date—provided cast/data and order form are complete. We’ll notify you immediately if anything is missing.

We stand behind our craftsmanship! Orthotic shells are warrantied for 5 years against breakage, and top/bottom covers for 3 months. If there's a lab error or material defect, we’ll replace or repair it at no charge (lab discretion).

We offer a no-charge modification policy for 3 months. Need an adjustment, addition, or minor change in shell specification? We’ll modify it using your original materials at no cost. If you’d like a completely new design, we’ll collaborate to find the best solution. Our team supports you at every step.

Shipping options include:

  • Same-day courier (Calgary local)

  • Next-day regional shipping

  • 2–3 business days for out-of-province

Flat-rate shipping applies—unless prepaid arrangements are made.
